As part of the Advanced Synoptics block course, our students visited the company WetterOnline. The aim of the visit was to gain practical insights into the work of a leading weather service provider and to link the theoretical principles learnt on the course with the realities of the workplace.
At WetterOnline, the students gained a comprehensive insight into the company’s structure and the diverse range of career opportunities available to graduates in meteorology and related disciplines – from data analysis and weather forecasting to product development.
Furthermore, the participants were able to explore for themselves the role that meteorological information plays in everyday life and how it is presented to reach a wide audience. The visit not only provided the participants with valuable professional insights but also gave them the opportunity to speak directly with staff and learn about potential career paths in applied meteorology.
