On Friday 26 June 2026, the Meteorology Department celebrated the 65th anniversary of the Meteorology Library with a short talk by Ms Lucia Hallas, followed by coffee and cake.

A small exhibition of historical literature paid tribute to renowned pioneers of meteorological research.

Prof. Dr Hermann Flohn (founding director of the former Meteorological Institute at the University of Bonn) laid the foundations of our library’s collection of meteorological literature and was also honoured with documents relating to his life and work.
