From 4 to 7 June 2026, the field course in the Hydrogeophysics module (M84 / pea833) will take place in the Vulkaneifel Geopark under the direction of Prof. Dr. Andreas Kemna, Maximilian Weigand and Joost Hase.
Content: The aim of the field exercise is the hydrogeophysical exploration and characterisation of various locations in the Vulkaneifel Geopark.
The course is aimed at M.Sc. students of Earth and Atmospheric Physics as well as Geology & Geochemistry/Petrology. Knowledge of applied geophysics, hydrogeology and computer-aided data processing is required.
Schedule: Lecture (2 SWS; Tue 10am-12pm s.t.), field exercise (04.06.2026 - 07.06.2026), follow-up exercise for evaluation (block course, TBA, dates by arrangement), presentations of results (date to be determined at the preliminary meeting).
The preliminary meeting will take place on 14 April 2026 at 10:00 a.m. (s.t.) in seminar room 3.006, Meckenheimer Allee 176.
The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 10. The cost contribution (including travel, accommodation and meals) is approximately €300 per person. The final amount may vary slightly and will only be announced once the number of participants has been confirmed.
