In his dissertation, which he wrote under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Andreas Kemna at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Bonn, he developed new approaches for improving geophysical inversion methods. His outstanding achievement was recognised with the highest distinction, summa cum laude, by the doctoral committee.
