- Mikro-CT Untersuchungen von Weichkörperstrukturen und 3D Rekonstruktionen von Fossilien aus paläozoischen Konservatlagerstätten- speziell Wissenbacher Schiefer. (RU-665/7-1) (since 2011)
- 3D reconstruction and animation of Hunsrück Slate Fossils in collaboration with students of the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg, which is funded by a Karl-Steinbuch grant from the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung (since 2010)
- A reinvestigation of Tesnusocaris goldichi, Brooks 1955 from the Lower Carboniferous of the Tesnus Formation of Western Texas. (since 2010)
- Morphology, Palaeobiology and Phylogeny of Oryctocaris balssi (Arthropoda) - a new phyllocarid genus from the Lower Devonian Hunsrück Slate (Germany) (RU-665/5-1) (since 2009)
